General information only
The pages on this website explain skin, hair and nail conditions and the treatments a dermatologist may use for them. They are written to help you understand your options and prepare questions. They are not a diagnosis and not personal medical advice.
Your skin needs an examination
Many conditions look alike, and the right treatment depends on your skin type, medical history, medicines and goals. Only a doctor who has examined you can say what is suitable for you. Please do not start, stop or change any medicine or treatment based on this website alone.
Results vary
Every person responds differently. Descriptions of how a treatment works, how many sessions are usual and what results look like are typical ranges, not promises. Possible side effects and risks are explained on each treatment page and at your consultation.
Photos and illustrations
Before-and-after photos appear only with the patient’s written consent and show that person’s result, not a guaranteed outcome. Drawings, diagrams and animations on this website are illustrations to explain how things work; they are not photographs of patients.
Devices and products
Devices and products are named to explain what we use. Naming them is not an endorsement by their makers, and suitability is always decided by the doctor.
Emergencies
This website, WhatsApp and our phone lines are not emergency services. If you have a severe allergic reaction, difficulty breathing, a rapidly spreading rash with fever, or any other emergency, go to the nearest hospital emergency department straight away.
Medical review
Medical pages are reviewed by Dr. Smit Thakkar, MBBS, DDVL, and show the date they were last updated. Pages marked “medical review pending” are drafts awaiting that review. Read how we write and check our content in our editorial policy.
